Kathryn Britnell

Kathryn Britnell (FI’19. FRCGS, FRGS) is an underwater, wildlife and expedition photographer, internationally published writer, explorer, scuba diver and speaker. Her images and editorial are published worldwide in print and online media. She is a Fellow of the Royal Canadian Geographical Society, Fellow of The Explorers Club and Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society.

Kathryn Britnell (FI’19. FRCGS, FRGS) is an underwater, wildlife and expedition photographer, internationally published writer, explorer, scuba diver and speaker. Her images and editorial are published online and in print media and she is co-author of a monthly adventure & exploration column for Luxe Beat Magazine under the banner Third Age Expeditions. Much of her work is focused on undersea exploration, adventure travel, globally protecting endangered species, preserving natural habitats, supporting marine & wildlife conservation efforts and environmental education.

Kathryn is a Fellow in the Royal Canadian Geographical Society, Fellow in The Explorers Club in New York City, and Fellow in the Royal Geographical Society in London. She also possesses decades of experience with respect to property & casualty insurance and risk management, including the expertise to manage the risk exposures on expeditions, eco-tourism businesses and ocean-based operations. She is also a former Travel Editor for Dive News Network.

Kathryn is also an Ambassador in EXPLOCEAN’s League of Underwater Explorers. She has experienced exhilarating encounters with tiger sharks, whale sharks, sea turtles, sea lions, and several species of venomous lionfish in the Philippines, splashed into zero-degree centigrade iceberg infested waters in Alaska and has explored the ocean’s depths after dark.
